Zoids: First Contact

Well, I like to write stories, and I like to write about Dead Space and Zoids. So what would happen if The Marker from Dead Space was found on Zi? You'r about to find out.

Note: I'm not going to kill off any of the main characters (though that doesn't mean I'm going to grant them amnesty either). 'There is a message hidden in this story, see if you can find it. And yes, the message has something to do with Dead Space. The message is untrue, and I threw it in there for fun. Also, in no way is this related to my Dead Space Time Line.

Let’s begin.

FindingEdit

It has been three months since the fall of the Death Saurer, and everything seems to be peaceful. The Helic Republic and Guylos Empire recently signed a peace treaty, and as such, are likely not to go to war. This peace, however, is quickly going to end.

Ever since Fiona got her memory back, she has helped both the Republic and Empire find more ancient ruins, and more ancient technology. Strangely, she has always told both sides to never investigate one ruin. Oddly enough, this ruin is the same one by the Wind Colony, the same ruin Van found Fiona in. Regardless, the Helic Republic sends out a research team, lead by Colonel Halford, to investigate the ruins. While the teams search turned out fruitless at first, on the third day of the examination, they find a secret room. The room contains multiply capsules (the same one's that Fiona was found in), but all of them are broken, and no one is around. Strangely, there is a shard of glass with a hole in it by each capsule. As the team looks around, they find a strange looking object. It's almost blood red, and has markings on it. They decide to call it, The Marker. The team is excited about this, believing they have found a Ancient Zoidian device.

They quickly bring it to a military base, were Dr. D and Fiona are called upon to study it. Even though Fiona said that the ruin should have been left alone, she heads to the base regardless. It would not be long before hell broke lose.

Isolated eventsEdit

Once Dr. D and Fiona arrive at the base, they notice a large amount of body bags being brought to the base. Fiona asks Dr. Kevel, the main doctor at the base, about this, and he explains what has been happening for the past couple of days. He explains that once The Marker had been brought to the base, most of the team, including Halford, became ill. Before long, they were hallucinating, and writing strange symbols ever were. They were brought to the medical center of the base, at which time they were insane. The only semi-sane one was Halford, who began to spit up a yellow foam. The doctor says that one day, one of the nurses busted into his office, and said he had to head to the medical center right away. When they arrive, Dr. Kevel becomes horrified at what he finds. The entire team had their heads covered in bandages, and had a hole in the center of each one. Halford was blamed for this, and was put under arrest.

After hearing this, Fiona requests to see Halford. While her request is denied at first, she is able to talk the head of security into seeing him. She quickly takes it back, as when she arrives, Halford is dead. The cause of his death is unknown, but it's believed he choked on the yellow foam he was constantly spitting up. He is quickly brought to the morgue. Fiona goes see Dr. D about what to do, and he explains that he was called away to another dig site, and is leaving Fiona the duty of investigating The Marker. After he leaves, Fiona decides to call it a day, and heads to bed.

At this same time, Van, who is only a few hours away, has a strange feeling that he should head to the military base. He is unaware that Fiona is there, or The Marker.

Later on that night, Dr. Kevel heads to the morgue, to check body count. He counts 20 dead, but is confused. Halford should have been in the count, bringing it up to 21. However, Halford is no were to be seen. Kevel hears a sound behind him, and is attacked by a bat-like creature. The creature launches a probe into Kevel's forehead, and Kevel is quickly transformed into a Slasher. The now Necromorph Kevel waits around as the infector, the bat-like creature, begins to infect the dead. Soon, the group of Necromorphs goes on a killing spree in the base. The second person killed is the same nurse who found the dead. Soon, the base is alerted to the intruders, and goes on high alert. Fiona is awoken by a soldier, who tells her that she needs to head with him. Before Fiona can even leave bed, a Necromorph beheads the soldier. The Necromorph attacks Fiona, but she is able to escape, though she receives a painful slash across her back. Fiona is able to reach the other survivors of the base, and learns that most of the people there have been killed. The group is then attacked by the hordes of Necromorphs, and despite using guns, is quickly killed. Fiona is the last one alive, and quickly takes shelter behind The Marker. She passes out, due to her wound, and the last thing she sees the horde surround her.

OpportunitiesEdit

As day breaks, Van arrives at the base. He leaves Zeke and the Liger behind, and begins to take a look inside the base. He doesn't find anyone around, but does find the entire base in disarray. Computers are smashed, claw marks are everywhere, and walls, floors, and ceilings are stained with blood. As Van begins to look around, he begins to fell uneasy, and has the feeling that he is being watched. When he enters the storage facility, he catches a glimpse of The Marker. He then feels himself being drawn to the strange object, but before he does, he hears a whimpering coming from behind The Marker. The whimpering is coming from Fiona, whose back is extremely cut-up. Van tries to talk to her, but she does not seem to listen, and continues to cry. Van puts his hand on her shoulder, and asks her if she is ok. She looks at him, and Van notices, to his horror, that she is covered in slash-marks. He then notices that the floor she is sitting on is stained in blood. Horrified at this, Van picks her up and carries her back to the Liger and Zeke. The farther away the two get from The Marker, the more Fiona settles down. Once they reach the Liger, Fiona has stopped crying, and asks Van why he is here. He says that something seemed to have told him to come, and that he is glad that he has. He then asks if Fiona can stand, noticing that her legs are also cut up. She says that she can, and leaves Van arms. She is unable to stand, and topples forward. Zeke catches her, but Van notice that Fiona has a look of terror on her face. She tells them to run, and passes out.

Van soon learns why he should run, as a Slasher charges him. Van pulls out his knife, and blocks the Slasher's scythe, but cannot block the other one, which impales his side. Van cut's off the Slashers scythe, and then cuts its face. The Necromorph screams out, and more of it's kind appear. Van tears the scythe from his side, and attacks the screaming Necromorph, killing it. A very fat Necromorph attacks Van, and Van cuts its stomach. Suddenly, a large amount of tiny Necromorphs swarms out of the larger Necromorph, and begin to latch on to Van, tearing his flesh. Van is able to pull them off, and tries to get to Zeke and Fiona. The Necromorphs seem to notice this, and head towards the two as well. Van calls out to Zeke to fuse with the Blade Liger and flee. Zeke does not listen, and instead grabs Van and flies off. Zeke then lands in a clearing, and Van notices that Zeke has cut marks on him as well. Around this time, Fiona wakes up, and notices the wounds that Van has. She gets upset, and blames herself for this, but Van tells her it's not her fault. Fiona begins to cry, and Van holds her, saying that everything will be fine. The two soon fall asleep next to each other, and Zeke takes watch. During this sleep, Van and Fiona seem to share one dream, which quickly turns into a nightmare. The two wake up at the same time, and notice it's night. To make matters worse, the two aren't in the same location, and Van's back is, for some reason, cut up very badly. Before the two can do anything, they hear something coming from the woods.

New ThreatsEdit

The sound turns out to be a Gustav. The pilot of the Gustav is none other then Moonbay. Moonbay notices the two wounds, and says she'll take the two to the nearest medical center. Before they leave, Zeke joins them. While Fiona asks Zeke what happened, he remains silent. On the way to the medical center, Fiona passes out, and begins to mumble something in a strange langue. Van also passes out, and has a strange dream. When he wakes up, he finds himself alone in a dark room. While confused, the lights suddenly turn back on, and Van notices that he is in a integration room. A voice asks him what he has seen, and Van tells them the whole story of what happened. After being told that he is in a Guylos military base, he is told to leave the room. He does so, and find's Moonbay, Irvine, and Thomas waiting for him. It appears something is bothering them, and Van asks what's wrong. Irvine replies that something is wrong with Fiona.

Van is the first one to arrive at the medical bay, and asks one of the doctors what's wrong with Fiona. The doctor says that while she is healing normally, she is dyeing. No one knows why, but it's believed that she has lost the will to live. Van asks to see her, and is allowed to. However, it appears that he arrived to late, as Fiona is not breathing or moving. However, as Van approaches her, she begins to breath again, and wakes up. Upon seeing Van, she runs out of bed, and embraces Van. While in the embrace, both of them feel scars on the others back. Van decides to see a doctor on this, and tells Fiona to stay there. However, she latches on to his arm, and begs to come with Van. He complies, and the two find the same doctor. The doctor is surprised Fiona is alive, saying that nothing could have saved her. Regardless, Van asks about the scars. The doctor says that after cleaning both their wounds, they discovered a strange scar on both their backs. The scar's look exactly like The Marker. Upon hearing this, Fiona passes out, and Van catches her. She wakes up in Van's arm, and begins to talk in a strangely. At this time, Moonbay, Irvine, Thomas, and Zeke enter the medical ward as well. It would appear that they were expecting Fiona to have been dead, as they seemed to have been upset. As the group begins to catch up on what's been happening for the past couple of months, Van learns from Thomas that the attack on the Helic Base is being blamed on terrorist, and that The Marker has been moved to the base the group is currently at.

Upon hearing this, Van and Fiona look at one another, each with a worried expression on their face. Van says that is would be best if The Marker would just be destroyed, and that "the past" won't repeat itself. Just as this is said, a loud roar is heard, and moments later, the crumpled up remains of a soldier breaks through the wall. Suddenly, a massive Necromorph breaks through the wall. This type is known as a Brute. It quickly targets the group, and charges at them. Irvine tries shooting at it, but it won’t go down. Van tells the group to run, which they do. They quickly reach the Zoid Hanger and Moonbay, Irvine, and Thomas head to their respective Zoid. Van and Fiona, along with Zeke, quickly head to a Pteras. The group escapes the base, and continue to run, even though they are well out of range of the Necromorphs. As night falls, the group sets up camp, and Van decides to tell them what has happened.

Across the MindEdit

Upon hearing Van's story, the group decides to head to find Herman, since he is now in command of the Helic Military. Only problem is that the group is lost in the middle of the desert. While they try to contact anyone, their messages go short, and all they hear is static. They deiced to rest for the night, but a sand storm hits, forcing everyone to sleep in their Zoids. Moonbay says Fiona can sleep in the Gustav, but she refuses, and stays in the Pteras. Though being cramped inside the Pteras (it has two seats), Fiona does not seem to mind. During the night, she and Van talk about what has happened in the past few months.

Not that long after the Death Saurer was defeated (about a week), Van's group was invited to Guygalos for a celebration party. Van, Fiona, and Zeke joined in as well. During the party, Irvine, Moonbay, and Thomas decided to follow Van and Fiona, and see what they are up to. They find the two talking, and decide to spy on them. They over hear Fiona say that she is deciding to head over with Dr. D to help understand Zoidians better. Van says that he is fine with this, but he will miss her. Van then asks when she will be heading out, which she says it be tomorrow. Fiona then asks Van if he would kiss her, something that surprised Van, along with their Moonbay, Irvine and Thomas. To Irvine and Moonbay's annoyance, Thomas interrupts the two, and drags Van away, saying he needs to talk to him (which in turn was only him thanking Van for saving the day). After that, Van and Fiona went their separate ways.

Now that the two are together again, Fiona asks what will happen next. Van tells her he doesn't know, but says that everything will turn out ok. Fiona then asks Van if he will still keep his promise. Before Van asks what this is, he becomes silent, and pulls out his knife. To Fiona's horror, Van cuts his arm, and begins to write strange symbols on the Pteras cockpit window using his own blood. Van then turns to Fiona, and in a inhuman voice tells her;

Born by fire,

one shall betray.

Killed by his own kin,

to rise again.

Two are one,

one are the same.

Two combine,

and make us whole again."

He then passes out, leaving Fiona scared and upset. As dawn arrives, Fiona wakes up, and notices that Van is asleep. She also notices that the cut on Van's arm is gone, so are the blood symbols. Fiona wakes Van up, and the two head over to the group. During breakfast, Thomas tells the group that a village is not that far away, and there is a small Guylos military outpost there. He also says that the outpost works on experimental equipment, one such item being stasis items. Fiona appears to be distracted, and Moonbay asks what’s wrong. Fiona replies that's it's nothing. After breakfast, the group heads over to the village. Van and Fiona had to ride in the Gustav, due to the sand storm messing up the Pteras systems.

Is Anyone AroundEdit

It is nightfall when Van's group arrives at the village. Van notices that no one is around, yet everything in the village was working. The group finds a military jeep loaded with weapons, and Irvine suggest they gather as much weapons as possible. The group takes up residents in a local inn, but hear movement upstairs. Van begins to look around, but only finds a shower turned on. When he goes to turn it off, he feels a gun pointed at the back of his head. He quickly turns around, and is surprised to find Raven. The two are surprised to see each other again, and Raven asks what Van is doing here. Van explains his story, and asks what Raven is doing. He replies that he and Reese (along with their Organoids), have gone through a similar experience. Raven says that he and Reese arrived a few hours before. After searching the village, they gathered up as much supplies as they could find, and decided to stay the night there. Raven says there is enough room and supplies for Van's group to stay as well. When the two arrive downstairs, they find Reese and Fiona talking. Despite the two sides being enemies in the past, they appear friendlier. Van tells Raven that they are trying to find Herman, which is ironic as Raven is trying to find Karl.

Knowing that the group has been through a lot, Van decides to check out the outpost in the morning. The rest of the group agrees on this, and head up to some of the rooms. Fiona decides to stay in the same room as Van, and tells Van that he is going to have to sleep on the floor (given the fact that the room only has one bed). While Fiona is in the shower, Van talks to Raven. Raven says that if Van is looking for a apology, he has come to the wrong person. Van says that he not looking for that, but wants to know if Raven would like to join Van's group. Raven asks why, and Van says that if this "outbreak" is more wide span, it's likely that the Guylos and Helic forces had probably joined forces to fight off the threat. Raven agrees, and tells Van that after this is over, the two should have another Zoids battle. At this time, Van releases that he doesn't have his Blade Liger. He decides to not tell Raven this, and agrees. Before heading back to his room, Van asks Raven if he or Reese have experienced anything "odd'. Raven says that he has, and the two head to their rooms.

When Van arrives at his room, he finds Fiona already asleep. As Van heads to the shower, he has a strange feeling something is watching him from the window, when he looks out it, he sees the shadow of a figure darting into a ally. He does not take much mind to this, but notices something written on the shower wall. It is the strange symbols again, but written in blood. Van quickly heads over to Fiona, and wakes her up, asking if she is bleeding anywhere. She replies no, and Van takes her to the writing. Van notices that the writing is gone, and Fiona replies that the same thing happened to her. Van hugs her, and says that The Marker has done something to them. Fiona agrees to this, and says that she is glad that the two are together again. Their moment is cut short, as they hear a bellow coming from outside.

StrandedEdit

After hearing this bellow, Van and Fiona check outside, and see a strange man outside. Van and Fiona head outside, though both of them are carrying weapons. When they reach the spot the man was, he is gone. While confused, Van hears a sound, and a sharp pain in his back. Fiona screams, and Van comes face to face with a Necromorph of a former soldier. This Necromorph is much faster, and is able to dodge most attacks from Van. Van then picks up his rifle, and fires at the Necromorph. The shot hits it in the head, but that does not stop it. It charges at Fiona, but Raven appears and pulls out a shotgun. With one blast, half the Necromorph is blasted off, and it falls dead. Fiona heads over to Van, and examines his wound. While it is bleeding, it is not fatal. Raven explains that the Necromorph was a "Twitchier". He and Reese had faced them before, and says that they are Necromorphs with experimental stasis equipment on them. They are fast, but twitch a lot.

Raven explains some of the other Necromorphs, such as Brutes, Slashers, Infectors, Pregnants, Lurkers, and much more. Suddenly, they hear a bellow again, and the strange man appears. Raven says it's a "Divider", and that taking out parts of it's body would result at it's head and arms to split off from the body and attack. Fiona, Raven, and Van open fire on it, and like Raven said, it's arms and head leaves it's body and attacks. The head part (which is a head with three tentacles), attacks Fiona. It wraps it's three tentacles around her neck, but Fiona grabs one of them, and rips it off. She then hurls the rest of it on the ground, and smashes it with her foot. Van notes that Fiona seems more violent, but decides to let it ago. Soon, more Twitchiers, Slashers, and a Brute arrive.

Van, Fiona, and Raven head to inn, and alert everyone to the Necromorphs. Everyone (including Zeke, Shadow, and Specular) takes part in the battle. Burning through ammo, the group are able to take out most of the Necromorphs, but more keep coming. During the battle, Van and Raven note that Reese, Fiona, and the Organoids are acting more violent in battle. Reese attacks with a combat knife and a high caliber pistol, Fiona takes out a Necromophs legs, then stomps on it's head, and Zeke even rips a Necromorph in half with his teeth. As the battle wears on, everyone has take damage, and wounded. The Necromorphs, however, just keep coming. Thomas tells the group then should head to the outpost. They find two jeeps, but Van and Raven say they'll stay behind. The group gives them the rest of their ammo, and heads over to the outpost. Van and Raven are left to fight a swarm of Necromorph.

DoomEdit

It soon becomes apparent to Van and Raven that they are outnumbered. The two hides in a building, were Raven says he only has three shells for his shotgun. Van says he only has half a cliff. While taking a breather, Van says this reminded him of the time he and Irvine went up against a large amount of Helcats so the Ultrasaurus could escape. Raven looks at Van oddly, and Van says Raven had to be there. Raven then asks Van about the time he and Van teamed up to fight the Death Saurer. The two then remember all the battles they fought against one another. Raven still says he will not apologies for the battles, and Van says he doesn't mind. Van pulls out his pocketknife, and tells Raven to be ready to fight hand-to-hand combat.

The two exit the building they were hiding in, and attack a lone Slasher. They are able to over power it, and kill it. However, more Necromorphs arrive, and attack. As Van faces off against a Slasher, another Slasher tries to attack from behind. Raven tackles it, but it responds by cutting his arm off. Raven, who has killed one Slasher, quickly attacks this one. He breaks off its scythe, and throws Raven across his back. Raven asks why Van is saving him, and Van says that is what friends do. Suddenly, a Brute attacks the two. It lands a painful punch at Van, sending him and Raven crashing through a wall. Van reaches for his knife, but the Brute steps on it, and then punches Van. Van feels blood leaving from his mouth, and everything goes black.

End resultsEdit

It has been over two hours, but neither Van nor Raven has arrived at the Outpost. Thomas was able to get a single out, and receives a message about a Whale King, with Dr. D, and the Blade Liger onboard, being sent to their area. As Thomas keeps in touch with them, Irvine heads out to find Moonbay. He finds her, and notices that she is watching Fiona and Reese, along with the Organoids, waiting for Van and Raven to arrive. Moonbay tells Irvine that she can't count the number of times Fiona has been like this. Irvine tells her that it's Van their talking about, and he always comes through for them. Moonbay tells Irvine that he's right. Irvine ask if she has ever waited for him. She replies once or twice, and then kisses him. She then says that if Irvine tells anyone about this, he will have a reason to wear that eye-patch. Irvine laughs to himself, and heads inside.

Back in the village, Raven wakes up and notices that Van is not moving. While only having one arm, Raven picks Van up, and heads to the outpost. Before heading out, Raven places Van on the ground, and pulls a strange pendent, which he wears around his neck. He picks Van up again, and heads out. On the way, he comes across a lone Slasher. However, it steps aside, and lets them pass. Raven begins to notice that he and Van are surround by Necromorphs, but all they are doing is watching. Before long, Raven notes that Van is not moving at all. He places Van on the ground, and sits next to him. He then says that he going to tell Van something no one knew about.

During the fight between the Helic and Guylos forces near the Wind Colony, Raven steals the priest gun, and runs into the ruin. He finds the secret room with The Marker, and the capsules. He then notices a strange bat-like creature flinging itself at the capsules. It is a Infector, which notices Raven and heads for him. Raven targets the gun at it, but the gun is of course on safety. Before the infector kills Raven, Raven hears a voice. The voice tells him that it needs his help, and address him by his real name, Joyce Chen. The voice guides Raven to a screwdriver like device, and tells him to drill a hole in each capsule. It then says that if Raven helps, it will destroy all Zoids. Raven agrees, and helps the Infector gets into the capsules, causing a group of Slashers to be born. While they are about to attack him, they stop. Raven notices a strange pendent on the ground, and the voice tells him to wear it, saying that if he does, no Necromorph will attack him. Raven wears it, and quickly flees the ruin. After he leaves the ruin, he places the Pendent in his pocket. He has become traumatized from the events, and is uneasy with the gun. Soon, he finds Prozen.

After telling Van his story, Van asks if Raven's name is really Joyce. Raven replies that it is, and ask if Van can walk. Van says that he's hurt, and that he needs some time to heal. Regardless, Raven picks Van back up, and heads to the Outpost.

Back at the Outpost, Thomas finds out that the Guylos Empire has been well aware of The Marker, and even experimented in making Necromorphs. One such experiment, "The Hunter" is located at this base.

A New BreedEdit

After finding out about The Hunter, Thomas quickly tells Moonbay and Irvine about this. Thomas says that The Hunter is stored in a capsule on the north side of the base. However, before they can do anything, they hear Fiona scream. The three rush outside, and come face to face with The Hunter. Zeke, Shadow, and Specular attack the new Necromorph and teat it to shreds. However, The Hunter has the ability to regenerate, and quickly reforms. This time, it's ready for the Organoids attack. It swats Specular to the side, and stabs Shadow. Though Shadow is alive, The Hunter hurls him into Zeke, knocking them out. With the Organoids out of the way, it heads over to the two Zoidans. However, Irvine, Thomas, and Moonbay open fire at The Hunter, allowing Reese and Fiona a chance to run. Knowing that The Hunter is a "bullet sponge", the group quickly heads inside. However, The Hunter breaks easily breaks through the wall.

The group is forced to barricade them self’s in the control room. As Thomas accesses the main computer, he finds out that a mass swarm of Necromorphs is headed in the group’s direction. Irvine says that the group should not worry about those Necromorphs, and worry about The Hunter. While brainstorming, Irvine asks Thomas if any sort of test engine is around. Thomas says there is one, and says it can be only activated from the control room. Irvine says he has a plan to kill The Hunter, and takes a red piece of cloth. He says that he is going to lure The Hunter to the test engine, and take out its legs. When he raises the red piece of cloth, Thomas is going to fire the engines. If it works, The Hunter should be killed. Knowing that there is a chance Irvine might not come back, Moonbay kisses him, and wishes him luck.

As soon as Irvine leaves the control room, he encounters The Hunter. He fires a few round into it, and taunts it. The Hunter charges him and Irvine led’s it, slowly but surely, to the test engine. Once there, Irvine shoots The Hunters legs off. He then waves the red cloth at a camera, and Thomas starts the engines. However, The Hunter shoots out a tentacle, and drags Irvine to it. Thomas is unable to stop the engine process, and soon, Irvine vanishes into the flames with The Hunter

Dimesion TravelEdit

Upset about Irvine's death, the group soon turns their attention to the Necromorph swarms heading for the base. The group now composes of only Fiona, Reese, Moonbay, the Organoids, and Thomas. To make matters worse, Thomas is the only one with a weapon, but is out of ammo. Thomas suggests they just sit it out. The group watches on the security cameras as the Necromorphs storm the base. Soon, the cameras are taken out, one by one, until none are left.

Around this time, Raven and Van make it to the base. While the Necromorphs are swarming the base, none takes notice of Van or Raven. The group enters the base, and hears a shotgun blast. They investigate it, and find Irvine fighting off a group of Slashers. Irvine, though lightly burned, is alive, and notices the two. Raven grabs Irvine's arm, and the Necromorphs stop attacking Irvine. Raven says he'll tell him later, and he group heads out to find the control room. As the group wanders a round, they notice that there are less and less Necromorphs. Confused by this, Irvine see's a Slasher, and leaves Raven's grip. He tackles the Necromorph, and punches it. As it lets out a yell, it suddenly vanishes. Suddenly, Van wakes up, and Raven, literally, drops him. Van begins to mumbles something, and begins hallucinating. Suddenly, he stops, and turns to the group. In another inhuman voice, he says;

"The time has come,

for people to fear.

Four shall rise,

One shall fall."

With this, Van passes out. Irvine hears a sound, and tells Raven to take Van outside.

Around the same time, Thomas notices that there are no more Necromorphs outside. The group hears a sound, and looks out a window. To their relief, a Whale King has arrived. As they head to it, Dr. D, Herman, and Karl greet them. Dr. D says that the group needs to board the Whale King now. Fiona, Reese, and Moonbay hesitate, as they still want their friends to return. Herman tells them that they should come on board, as there is something waiting for them. The group boards the massive Zoid, and is surprised to find Raven, Van, and Irvine on board. Reese greets Raven with an embracive kiss, while Moonbay greets Irvine with an embrace. Van, though weak, walks over to Fiona. He asks if she was worried about him, and she replies that she was. Fiona hugs Van, but their moment is interrupted by Dr. D, who says that the group needs to talk.

Dr. D takes the group, along with Karl and Herman to a screening room, and says that this is no ordinary Whale King, but one that can time travel. While the group is confused on this, Dr. D says their problems are not only from the past, but also from the future. As such, they will need to the past, present, and future to stop the Necromorphs. Herman then says that all of the major Guylos and Helic leaders (such as Rudolph and the President) are safe. Karl adds that the forces on the Whale King are not a part of the Helic Republic or Guylos Empire, nor are they members of the Guardian Force. Karl says that they are the resistance, and such, the group is now called The Last Resistance.

After the speech, the group heads to the control room, were Dr. D sets the time device to 500 years in the future. He presses a button, and a warp-hole appears. The Whale King flies through it, and Dr. D says it will be a few hours before they arrive at the time period. He then says that rooms have been set up for the group, and tells them were to go, though most of them want to look around the custom Whale King. While Van wants to learn more about the time-traval device, but Fiona grabs his arm, and suggest that the two of them and Zeke should check on their room first. Van, though reclutent, agrees, and leaves with her and Zeke.

The two (along with Zeke) head to their room, and find it to be a somewhat plain room with two beds. As Van looks around, Fiona asks him what he thinks of her. He replys, though blushing, that he thinks of her as a close friend. Fiona nods, and Van asks what does she think of him. She then, to Van's and Zeke's surprise, says she loves him. She then asks if Van loves her as well. Van, noting that both Fiona and Zeke are looking at him, reply that he does. The two then embrace, and restate their love for each other. When they try to kiss, a call comes over the loud speaker, and tells Van to head to the bridge. Van exits the embrace, and apolpgises to Fiona, and heads to the door. Fiona, however, grabs Van by his shirt collar, turns him around, and kisses him. The two remain that way for a unknown time, but notice that Zeke is staring at them with his jaw, literial, dropped. Van and Fiona smile, and tell Zeke to get used to it. Fiona then tells Van to head to the bridge, and that she needs to change anyways. Van nods, and heads to the bridge.

Van reachs the bridge, and finds, Irvine, Thomas, Dr, D, and Raven waiting for him. Before anyone can asks him anything, Thomas asks Van where was he for the past three hours. The four notice that Van appears to be frozen, and shrugs. Dr. D then explains that the group has reached their destination, and that Irvine, Thomas, Raven, and Van are going to do some scouting. When Raven asks where they will be scouting, Dr.D says it is a popular holday spot, and that they will need to look for a couple of people, along with a Zoid Dr. D calls the Hover Cargo.
