The Deathpion is a Zenebas Empire Zoid with outstanding capability. The Zoid has a well balanced design and is very well protected for a Zoid of its size. Unlike most other 1/24 scale Zoids, the Deathpion is rather well armed in terms of both weapons and equipment. The Zoid has great survival instincts as its design allows it to perform to the best of its ability in almost any terrain, such as underwater, desert, and mountains. The Zoid was used in wars around ZAC 2043 as part of the Zenebas Empire's special forces, and also served as guards clearing the way for the newer Death Saurer.
Battle Story Appearances Edit
Designed in the ZAC around 2043, the Deathpion was the Zoid of choice for the Zenebas Empire. It was used as a support unit for the Death Saurer and was very well balanced in all areas making it a formidable opponent. When the Imperials drove the Republic back into the Central Mountain Range, they had to use smaller scale, but effective Zoids like the Deathpion and Shotwalker as their front attack Zoids. The Zoid was at first effective, but the Megatropos was too well armed in terms of fire power and armor.
A bit later the Zenebas Empire deployed the Gorem, a Zoid with lower speed than the Deathpion, but much more fire power. The Gorem was able to match the Megatropos to some levels of success. The Deathpion was still effective against Zoids like the Neptune and Battlerover.
The Deathpion was released as a 1/24 scale model rather than the 1/72 scale, in 1987, with the very first wave on the 24-Scale Zoids. The Deathpion is one of five Zenevas Zoids
The Zevle Zargamwas almost identical to the original, other than its color scheme (metal flake red and grey) and unpainted pilot.
Toy's Dream ProjectEdit
Deathpion was released in the Toy's Dream Project line as a limited edition, in 2003, limited to 6000 units. The Zoid is unchanged, appart the battery cover which now has a screw, and the box differs by the colour.
Panzer Tier EditWave also released their version of Deathpion as part of the Panzer Tier line. Like the other Wave Zoids, orange tranluscent parts instead of blue. But the most notable thing is that a new part was added to the Zoid, to replace the top the canopy to make it cover more of the pilot.
