Spinosaurus is a type of theropod dinosaur. The original fossil remains were destroyed during World War II in an Allied bombing of Germany and as a result Spinosaurus was looked upon as a fairly large but for the most part, unremarkable dinosaur for many years. However in recent years, new evidence has indicated that Spinosaurus did not have the familiar carnosaur head of Allosaurus or Tyrannosaurus but rather an elongated snout which has redefined how paleontologists think of the animal. In addition recent studies have solidified earlier theories that Spinosaurus is the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs, even larger than Tyrannosaurus rex and Giganotosaurus, a fact that, now confirmed, has finally reached the public awareness.

Two Spinosaur-Type zoids exist; the Spinosapper and the Dark Spiner. The Spinosapper is smaller and displays the earlier Tyrannosaur-like head shape. The Dark Spiner, on the other hand, is portrayed as a larger and distinctly more powerful zoid, though still not of the massive size of the Gojulas series. The crutial features of Spinosaur zoids are their sails, which serve a variety of purposes and make them unpredictable and dangerous opponents.
